"I spent a few weeks moping around," The Terrible Trivium admitted with a sigh. We had a rare opportunity to interview a player at his home. He looked comfortable, sitting on a plush couch, the London Eye spinning merrily out the window. "I was forlorn. Didn't want to watch hockey, spend time with teammates, anything like that. I stayed home, got up, are carbs, did some online impulse shopping. It was a bad scene. I didn't even put on clothes for 10 days."

"Then I saw a deal for a week-long vacation in Japan," Trivium added, visibly cheering up. "Flight from London to Tokyo, stopping in Sydney, Australia. Six nights at a five star hotel. Hotel had all the services you could imagine. Spa, massage, workout facilities, heated indoor pool, full service restaurants, and a train stop half a mile away that can take you anywhere."

"I had fun in the city for a few days, but then wanted to change it up," he continued. "I booked a ticket out to Mount Fuji, wanted to visit the shrine. Couldn't believe who I saw when I got there."

From the kitchen emerged a young Japanese woman, all smiles beneath her red-dyed hair. I recognized her at once. "Konnichiwa, Itoh-Chan," I said, bowing slightly from my seat, trying - and probably failing - to mask my surprise.

"Hello, motherfucker!" Joshi wrestler and internet sensation Maki Itoh replied, giving me a merry wave before snuggling up to Trivium.

"Itoh-Chan was like a shot of sunlight in the middle of winter," Trivium added, smoothing her hair affectionately. "It's been a very good offseason."
