Jayrad28 397
Former Saint John Sea Dogs defenceman James Bourque has officially declared for the VHLM and is reportedly listening to waiver offers. The Young defenceman came 6th in all Defence scoring last season with 17 goals and 46 assists. He suffered a late season injury last year and missed the entire playoffs in which his team was eliminated in the Quarter Finals. Bourque is a strong puck moving defenceman who has a laser of a shot. His coaches always said if he shot more he could be a 30 goal Point man. He’s a power play specialist who loves to run the point and control the flow of the play. His weak points are definitely his physicality, he also tends to get caught pinching more times than he’d like to admit. His defensive skills will definitely needs some work in a much faster paced league where he will be playing against men. Bourque may not have the top end talent to play on the big leagues one day, but if he improves his skills he should be able to be a very valuable VHLM defenceman for years to come.
