S72 is nearing the trade deadline, and with that, we are also past the halfway point of the season. There are a lot of notable stories this season with new faces in the league, some old ones are gone, and some players hitting their stride. Today I'll be covering the fact that Andrew Su is now the Vancouver Wolves franchise leading scorer. This happened almost at the start of the season, but I'll be covering it now. VAN has been around for a long time, and with that, they have their fair share of legends. Most notable of which are Julius Freeman, Jeff Downey and HHH in recent memory. Su passed HHH sometime last season and was sitting behind Freeman and Downey at the start of this one.

This season Su has passed Julius Freeman and Jeff Downey in points for the franchise lead. Both Freeman and Downey had 460 points for their careers in VAN. Su currently has 485 points and counting. Su has also only played 402 games, compared to the 458 that Freeman played and 504 that Downey had. Su is also quite close to holding a few other VAN records. Su is currently 2nd in goals scored as well as 2nd in assists for the franchise. In each category, Su is sitting behind Freeman who has 217 goals, and Downey who has 347 assists. As of today, Su has 200 goals and 285 assists. It is a very high possibility that Su will be able to pass Freeman in goals by the end of this season and will pass Downey in the next season. Su could also pass Freeman for shots taken with 2115 compared to 2292.

Su's career didn't start off great in the big leagues. After he had won the Founders Cup with OTT in the M and scored 99 points, Su was drafted 13th overall. Despite not having crossed the cap of 250 TPE by the season start, Su opted to play in the pros. Unfortunately due to the overcrowding at the center position in VAN, and the fact that Su was a pretty bad player, he didn't see much ice time and only had a total of 19 points in his rookie campaign. In his sophomore season, he finally improved enough to play on the second line, behind HHH and was able to show massive strides in his game, with 77 points on the season. After that Su became an absolute unit. For season 74 he continued to play behind HHH on the second line and was able to score 100 points and 40 goals. In S74 he was also able to win it all with VAN. From there, he would continue to have 2 more consecutive 100 points, 40 goal seasons. Su would miss out on the Mike Szatkowski Trophy in season 75, by 1 point. He had 106 points and 43 goals compared to John Merrick's 107 point campaign. Despite the heartbreaking loss, Su came back strong in S76, having a 121 point season, tieing with Mikko Lahtinen with 121 points to claim the trophy. That season he was also able to win the Scotty Campbell trophy for MVP.
