   Mikey Markov Prospect Scouting Report

Mikey Markov joined the league near the end of the s77 VHLM season. He came in with pretty high expectations and it’s safe to say that he met them. He was only able to play one regular season game where he registered his first career point. In the playoffs is where Markov really excelled with 3 goals and 2 assists in 5 games played. His team lost big time but Markov was a big bright spot on the team in that short series.

 

Markov has pretty high potential and he could definitely become a very good player in his career. Markov has showed high skill in every game he has played in so far in his career. Hopefully he can improve on his defense and scoring because this player definitely has a very bright future ahead of him. I think his strong points are his skating, goal scoring, and his puck handling. His weakness would have to be his size and his physique as he is only 5’5 playing against some players who are a whole foot taller. The kid has great feet and great hands otherwise but it will all depend on how he uses them and if he can improve to match his opponents in future matchups. Any team would love to have a player like this and I’m sure there are plenty of teams that have their eyes set on him for the upcoming VHL draft.

 

Markov will be a big project but if he is willing to put the work in then he can definitely work out. He is behind by almost a whole season only playing in that one game in the s77 season. He will have to show big improvement in the next season if he wants to keep his hype. It will be very interesting to see how he performs in s78 in the VHLM with the team that selects him in the dispersal draft. I expect him to dominate the league for the next 1-2 VHLM seasons and if he does he will definitely have high expectations when he enters his VHL rookie season. Hopefully he is picked up by a team that can surround him by some skilled teammates as well as give him the ice time to show the skill he possesses as well as properly develop.

 

For now Markov will have to sit and wait until his entry draft to see what team he will be playing for in the future. In conclusion this player has a very high ceiling and will be a fan favorite when he finally steps into the VHL.
