Bojovnik 487
Czech defenseman Jan Hlozek capped off a historic season following his Founder's Cup victory with a gold medal at the World Junior Championship to send the Topolna native into his rookie season with the VHL's Riga Reign full of confidence. Hlozek played some of his best hockey of the season with Team Europe, bagging 8 points in 8 round robin games before adding another assist in the gold medal game, and he told Czech-based news portal Hockey.cz that he was proud of what he achieved this season. "At times I thought I could have played better throughout the season, but to finish with a Founder's Cup and a gold medal is just great. I've been blessed to be part of two great teams, all full of great guys, who have made great things happen," Hlozek stated. The Czech blueliner said that he was fully in the swing of his offseason preparations ahead of his debut season with the Riga Reign. "Riga put a lot of faith in me when they drafted me last season. Now it's my time to show them that they made the right choice. I've been hard at work, and I hope that the hard hours I've been putting in will pay dividends," Hlozek stated.
