The Menace had the rare chance to be able to select twice in the top 3 of the S78 VHL Entry Draft.  Both selections were supposed to add some much needed skill to the very young Menace team.

Markinson has played well even though the points haven't necessarily been going his way. He has 3 points in 10 games with the team and has a plus/minus of +7. He's been playing well in his own end and has been the team's most physical player, leading the team with 43 hits.  He's been steadily earning the trust of his coach after earning himself a role on the team's top defensive pairing alongside Shaggy Tipton. He played an important role in defeating the Vancouver Wolves in their last game earning a total of 11 hits and blasting 6 shots on net. He earned himself a point in that game and went +2. Markinson is showing that he'll just be getting better and better with every game as he becomes more comfortable playing in the big league.

The Seabasstard on the other hand has seen a rough start to his rookie campaign. The centerman is almost dead last in team scoring and hasn't been good at all since joining up with the Menace. He has 2 points in his name and has game a abysmal -7 which is tied for worst on the team. He's been so non existent offensively that the team has taken away all powerplay time from him completely. The Seabasstard actually hasn't been very noticable out there at all.  He's supposed to be relied on to play well defensively and chip in some points here and there for secondary scoring and he has failed to do either one so far.  The Seabasstard appears to be frustrated on the ice and has to start producing offense as he doesn't bring much else as his 5'10" frame puts him at a disadvantage in the physical aspect of the game and if you aren't able to be physical you better be able to contribute on the offense.

The Team is scheduled to play the Wranglers next so stay tuned !
