Laine 1,361
Helsinki, Finland - The Titans this season have defied every expectation thrown upon them. The team, after losing 3 key players from their Cup Finals appearance is sitting 3rd in the European Conference, 3 points behind 2nd placed London. The Titans have been getting points from everywhere, but a key superstar has gone quiet lately. Superstar Winger Patrik Laine, who has scored at a point/game for each of his last 2 seasons, has only 12 goals and 27 points in 36 games. His defensive play hasn't been good either, as he has been a liability in his own zone. He only has 1 point in his last 6 games."I'm usually pretty confident even in slumps, but this has been a whole new thing for me. It's frustrating when your team drops games and you know you're playing like sh*t. I want to do everything to help Helsinki win, but I just don't know what has been up lately. I just haven't felt like myself." The now 22 year old Finn is 2 seasons removed from a 42 goal, 97 point season that saw him finish 9th in the league in scoring. He has one year left on his contract with the Titans, which raises some questions about his future with the organization. "I'm not worried about my contract situation or anything like that. I know what I'm capable of and I just need to play it one game at a time and hopefully find my rhythm again. In terms of my future in Helsinki, I'd love to stay in Helsinki. We're in a weird spot right now, but my future will be between me and management for the time being. I'm hopeful I can stick around though."
