Kankkunen's thoughts on the VHLE

     It may be exciting for the new players and stressful for managers and staff but the VHL is going to be changing in a big way when they introduce the VHLE with all the new team identities in the near future, definitely the most hype announcement I've read on here and there's so much to talk about.. I'm just going to start off with one thought and go from there because I have no idea how to do this theme week without graphic skills.

 

     First of all I'm not really a person for big changes to be honest and it's going to be hard to adjust to with everything going on so not sure where to go with my next character. There's a new cap to reach for newer players wanting to play at the highest level but it'll present opportunities for young managers and give players some more screen time to display their abilities early in their career as well as a better understanding of skills, they will be ready to move up to the big league which is huge for future stars ready to pace their way into the history books so it's something to look forward to for everybody and a definite refresher, it almost feels like a dream! What does this mean for welfare players though? That was my plan going into my next create to try and have a little more fun, now I guess there is still a league to advance into and stats are stats but like my first build where I had the chance to win the cup quite a few times, I might only get a few chances with my next, if that.

 

     Well right off the bat I think of random locations that never get their name out there like Congo for example, I know it would be hard to believe and out there but being in a new type of local would give a spot to the players who would rather play for a small market and help out another cities economy, especially with the extra cash the VHLE will bring in when it debuts. On the other hand after doing some quick research I found some similar vibing locations with a better and more realistic chance to become a future hockey hotspot.

 

--> Sweden, why isn't there a team playing in one of the more player created, history driven and it's one of the biggest countries, they have one of the more well known leagues irl and has a lot of cities who could step up and represent Sweden. The only thing I think stopping this location would be the sheer fact of being too big for the league but with a indentity ready from the past you never know. My favorite spot: Frolunda

 

--> Germany, it also has a league but it's not very big but you can't count out another cold country with a rich hockey background plus it's also a strong place for a creative and strong identity. Although it's kind of like London in the way of being different but that's perfect for players who want to be on a team that stands alone, ready and waiting for their next win to put them on the map. It's also a major location but a perfect fit I think for the new league being one of there bigger markets. My favorite location: Munich

 

--> Slovakia, should fit in after seeing their neighbour Prague overcome and become a big name in the vHL and since they are so close In location with a ton of fans waiting for a team, it should be easy for the league to transition. Also they are a little smaller similar to Germany it seems like a perfect spot for a competitive team in the VHLE considering Bratislavia is one of the more well known names on here. My favorite locations: Bratislavia

 

     My favorite spot and most likely location to join the VHLE has to be Berlin, specifically the Iron made by Kaleeb. The tank is very clean and cool and it has a strong team name to back it up, for some reason I'm thinking more grey and an even darker orange might go better with the overall idea though.. If we don't see this identity advance I'm sure his graphical skills will lead him to another idea and concept that's fit for the VHLE. Still a ton of time left and I'm sure some of the best are still cooking up designs so it's too early to really know which logo will rise above the rest.. Sitting back patiently waiting for the next!!! 

 

     I know the rules are already set and nothing I say will change them but I was thinking about possible changes like a different kind of icing or whatever similarities the staff could come up with to fit European hockey respectively in the sim engine, maybe even switch games for an even more different atmosphere but that might not work with stat collecting and continuity within the system, I do like the one conference idea a lot though. The cap will be interesting and should create a longer lasting experience for newer players and re-creates, it should also give the managers more of a job while maintaining an increased amount of prospect who are on different aspects of their career. Lastly the league should let players get called up to VHL teams after 250 and be able to be sent down under 250 TPE at any time, just something a little different to add in more fun for everybody.

 

     At the end of the day I see the VHL growing even bigger and the activity will be through the roof with the new league and possible expansion locations soon and in the far future with locations being filled up, whoever came up with the idea and the thought processes behind deserve a huge pat on the back for changing the game, literally. It might stray a few members away at first but it has the potential to become the first simulation league to expand the imagination and bring in a competitive, entertaining and enjoyable experience for a new genaration of players. That's my thoughts as of right now, bye for now!!

There is a team in Sweden in the bigs, Malmo. The E will still likely get another Swedish team though
