Malmo in tight race with Riga

Malmo went 1-1 in today’s sims as they sit just 2 points ahead of Riga. Riga still have a game in hand with 6 games left on their schedule. With Riga’s on paper team probably a bit better then Malmo’s, it would be more likely for Riga to steal a series or two if they make it to the post season. There is a juicy second place prize for either team that fails to make the post season, and that’s a lottery pick. For Malmo, a top 5-6 pick paired with a first could mean bringing in a stud defensemen to help round out the blue line more. For Riga, it would just add to the already up and coming Riga team. They could choose to keep the pick or sell it to get even better now. But with the majority of Riga’s current roster (S75’s) hitting depreciation as early as next off-season, the clock is already ticking.
