HOUSTON - Game 7. Where a best of seven game series turns into a life or death situation. This is it. Lose here and you’re out. Win here and you move on. Losing is not an option here. Sigard Petrenko seemed to be a bit more jumpy than usual. When we went over in order to try and talk to him, he did not respond. His eyes were focused on the stick, meticulously and methodically applying the tape onto the blade. In his eyes, there was a fire but also a bit of fear.

Eventually, he did stop taping his stick and joined us for the interview. When we asked him about how he was feeling about this matchup, he chuckled.

“A bit excited, a bit nervous, a bit aggressive, a bit hopeful. You know, it's game seven. I guess you could say that my mood is sort of a game seven type of mood.” He said with a shrug.

“We have to win here if we want to move on. Of course I’m feeling anxious. But I’m not going to let that stop me from doing my best. We’ll win this game. And we’ll move on to the second round. I believe in this team. Even if we don’t, I know we will work our hardest. If we somehow lose, they’ll be dragging us out kicking and screaming. Figuratively, of course.”

It turns out that last part was unnecessary. The game would go into OT and eventually double OT. It was close but a glorious goal from Ryan Li allowed the Houston Bulls to move on.
