Dear: "The Americans certainly aren't afraid to show they're proud of their nation!"

4 July Season 78 – "Even when I'm in Prague or Warsaw I hear so much about the American Independence Day!"

 

Predators forward Aloe Dear followed up a narrow 2-1 Warsaw victory over Prague with the above exclamation after a reporter asked her about her old VHLM teammates in Houston and Las Vegas. Relatively few of her minors teammates were actually American, but the veteran had nothing but positive words for them.

 

"I think it's always exciting to celebrate the birth of a nation! Chris [Reynolds, winger and linemate] is an American and we have had little flags flying around his locker in the stadium all day today. When I was in the States there was always a bit of ceremony around the flag and anthem pre-game; the Americans certainly aren't afraid to show they're proud of their nation!"

 

A Game 5 win was probably met with some celebration across the Warsaw team, American or not, but there's still plenty of work left to be done for the Predators, who took a slim 3-2 series lead.
