Nayt Bédard's Junior Review

Nayt Bedard has always had a knack for the things he loves. Starting hockey at 8 years old, he didn't even know how to skate when he first stepped on the ice! However, Nayt learned, he played, and he excelled. In his first minor season he got 10 points in 30 games, in his last minor hockey season at 14, he got 62 points in 40 games in AAA. He became a local household name in the outdoor rinks of northern Edmonton, playing in the community rinks almost every night for practice. Bédard has committed his life to hockey, hoping to even become a GM eventually. He keeps his mind on it 24/7, and watches every game he can. Eventually this would land himself in a spot overseas. It was right before his 15th birthday where he was offered a spot in the Nottingham EIHA U18 Team in England, and ended up going on a hot run with 48 points in 18 games, at an over 2 PPG pace. It was safe to say, Nayt was skilled at his job, and he wanted to take his skills to the next level.

Bédard is all about his strong and accurate shot and great skating ability, being able to utilize that with his solid puck handling skills to make some amazing highlight reel goals every night. He was nicknamed the "Eagle of Edmonton" in his community for his presence across the ice and strong skating. He claimed in an interview that his biggest inspirations are Matthew Barzal, Connor McDavid, and Leon Draisaitl, as they all utilize speed and excellent shooting while still making awe inspiring plays often.

Nayt's next move was back to Canada. Right before he turned 16, the Edmonton Oil Kings offered him a spot in their lineup. He would end up scoring 60 goals and 52 assists in 72 games, blowing the rest of the team out of the water. However this great season did not lead to a deep playoff run, and Nayt would have had to wait for another shot at the Memorial Cup. However, he did not go back the next season, as he wished to take a year off for high school. This year would still do him well, turning 17 and getting almost complete A's in all of his courses. However, he would drop out of high school shortly after hearing that the Minnesota Storm wished to sign him to a contract. He eagerly took the offer, excited to play on a team that wanted him and was at the caliber of Minnesota.
