CowboyinAmerica 2,918
Bulls Weather Rough Start at 3-5 Houston, TX -- The Houston Bulls came into this season with playoff aspirations, buoyed by goaltender Xavier Booberry who the team took sixth overall in the draft. And on the defensive end, the team is indeed performing well - its 20 goals allowed are the second-lowest in the VHLM. The problem is, Houston's 16 goals for are also the lowest in the league by a country mile, leading to a 3-5 record thus far that is below the team's initial expectations. To Booberry, it's certainly a long season, and eight games isn't a large sample size. But he also hope the team turns it around soon. "It's clear we've had some offensive troubles recently, there's no denying that," the goalie explained. "I'm doing what I can, and I don't plan on stopping that any time soon. But if it takes too long before we turn this offense around, we're going to see some other teams slip by." Currently, the Bulls only have four forwards and two defensemen actually on their active roster, far below other VHLM teams. A more full roster would certainly help the squad, a chance Booberry hopes is coming. "Yeah, I'd like to see a fuller locker room. But I don't make those decisions," he added. "All I can do is hope that management has their finger on the pulse. I'll just be back here stopping pucks."
