Malmo take tough loss to Riga

It was a frustrating game as Malmo lost a close game to a high end Riga squad. 4 goals is good for Malmo to score against Riga, but it’s the 5 they allowed that ended up hurting them in the end. Defence could become a more defining question when the trade deadline approaches, and Malmo could certainly be in the mix to make a move for a D man. Besides that though, Malmo’s season has been going very well. They iced a team that was great offence and goaler positions, while lacking a bit at defence on paper. Despite this, offence has proven to also be good defence. Malmo sit a comfortable 3rd place in the EU conference, a game in hand and 6 points clear of 4th place Warsaw. “It’s been a really good season so far, the younger rookies are starting to come along, and even win us a few games here and there.” Said Brendan Telker after the 5-4 Riga loss.
