Powers Talks First VHL Playoffs

Playoff season is the best, is it not? Fortunately for us, it has arrived! “Wild Card Week,” as I like to call it, will feature two matchups. In the North American Conference, we have the #4 seeded Calgary Wranglers facing off against the #5 D.C. Dragons. Meanwhile, in the European Conference, we have the #4 HC Davos Dynamo up against the #5 Prague Phantoms. 
 

Prague defenseman Nathan Powers sat down with us to discuss the upcoming series versus Davos, beginning tonight. 
 

“I’m very excited to play my first VHL playoff game. I got a taste of playoffs last season but the VHL is a different animal than the VHLM. It’s much faster, especially in the playoffs.”

 

Prague will have to do their best to score goals against the Dynamo, who allowed the 5th least goals in the league this season (227). 
 

“They’re a good team. They wouldn’t be here if they weren’t. We’re going to have to play our best. We also have a good team I feel, lots of players with playoff experience too. Venus went to the final the past two seasons, and Grekkark led Malmo to a Cup just a few short seasons ago. That’s not mentioning the players who have been with Prague on their last few playoff runs.” 
 

We’ll have to wait and see what happens this week! Series starts tonight! 
 

“Again, really looking forward to it, we’re going to bring it as are they. We just have to be ready to go.”
