pallosiili 12
In Finland, name Mursu means walrus. So you can imagine the bullying Mikael got from school when he was a little kid. Kids in Finland don't know the word mercy. Because of the bullying, Mikael was a loner. He's only friends were his mother, father and little sister Pirkko. When Mikael was 7 his father felt bad for him. Because it was winter, Mikael's father bought him skates to go skating on an outside ring. They went skating together and it did not take long to Mikael to love it. As you can imagine, first time for a 7 year old went quite bad, but Mikael have found something he loved. Couple days later they went back to skating, but this time Mikaels father have bought them hockey sticks and couple of pucks. That was it. Then Mikael knew what he wanted to do with his life. They went to the ring almost everyday on that winter and because of that Mikael's parents signed him to a local hockey team. Mikael was afraid first because of the bullying from school but it did not take long to him to notice that the team welcomed him with open arms. After some time decisions were made. There were so many players on the team and the coaches had to make some cuts about who will make to the main roster before the season starts. Mikael's skills were not unnoticed and he made the team first and got the C on his chest. That was Mikaels best day ever. Mikael played on the team for years and was dominating the local division, but when he was 16 he got a call. Oulun Kärpät's U-18 team wanted him on the roster. This was he's opportunity to play on the best league in Finland. They lived 100km away from Oulu, but recently Mikaels father lost his job and he saw this as an opportunity for him also if they move to Oulu to find a new job and support his son. Whole family agreed to move and so Mikael carees in Oulu started. During he's first year in the new team Mikael scored 19 goals and 23 assist's in 45 games. He was getting so much stronger and faster and was still growing up. Kärpät did not win the championship and was eliminated from the playoffs in the second round. In playoffs Mikael scored 4 goals and 5 assists. Mikael, who was so hungry to win, was very frustated and blamed himself for the elimination. He kept training for the summer with his dad almost everyday. Second season with U-18 started and Mikael at the age 17 was more than ready. In the regular season after 45 games, Mikael scored 29 goals and 27 assists. Season ended with the championship. Mikael scored 12 goals and 17 assist on the playoffs. He had finally did it. In the summer Mikael figured out that he didn't want to continue he's career in Finland. He and everyone knew that he has the potential and skill to play somewhere else where he can really to be the player he is. So again, decicions were made. Finland is not enough. Mikael set's his eyes to the VHLM.... Alex, Ledge, qripll and 2 others 4
