MetalToday 266
This Junior Showcase Tournament was one to remember, with a crazy rough start and a fighting finish. Teams absolutely hammered away at each other, trying to move up in the standings, but no team was a match for the Warriors. The Warriors was a real army, fighting and crashing and scoring taking 10 wins, 1 overtime loss, and 1 loss, every team had a lot of trouble with them. With the series going into the playoffs the Warriors are very much the favorite to win, the real fight will be for the silver medal for most teams. The Steels are the first team to play the Warriors in the playoffs, its going to be very interesting, but likely very lopsided. Players on the Steels seem to be nervous, but also frustrated to have lost the last 2 games, diminishing their chances at getting the silver medal, now they need to fight the team with the 10-1-1 record. They were not always in last however, it was Bridgade before them, but with Bridgade winning 2 in a row this caused a very dramatic shift in the standings. I want to emphasize, if the Steels won one of the two games they would be against the Royals in the upcoming playoffs, but the 2 losses and Bridgades 2 win caused a 1-point differential between the teams, due to Brigades overtime loss, where Bridgade would be on top. The upcoming playoffs show the Warriors against the Steels, and the Royals against Bridgade. Will the Steels cause a major upset? Will Brigade beat the Royals who had a good start but a bad finish to the round robin with a 4-game losing streak? These will be good questions to ask yourself as you watch intently for the games to finish. What are your predictions?
