Devise 4,475
It's been an interesting start to the season for London defender Sven Reikkinen. Many would call S79 a better, but still disappointing season, especially from his own point of view for Sven, he was not shy about complaints regarding officiating as the zero penalty minute player amassed 30 last season. Coaches inside of London have said the player showed up to camp a lot more quiet, a lot more focused. He seems to be trying to battle some internal thoughts and problems while working on simply becoming the player he thinks he's capable of being. He's a very good young player, and they really feel the opportunity is there for an elite level performance if he just stays in the zone. For fans the trends early this season show that despite a loss in some teammates and a worsening of the roster overall, that the overall loss of players to the E league has opened up an opportunity for Sven to take a starring role with London. Season GP G A P +/- SHT PIM HIT SB GW PPG SHG 80 (LDN) 4 4 1 5 4 17 0 5 11 2 1 0 While it's only been 4 games, it's clear that the quiet focused approach has been working better for the Swedish defender. Not only pacing higher and with better offensive numbers while being a key offensive winning contributor on his team, but even defensively a stronger early per game pace for shots blocked and hits. It's clear that Sven may have found a groove, now the real challenge is the consistency required in keeping it. The coaches in London remain hopeful that their star defender has what it takes keep going strong.
