Marcus Eisenhower the German center has recently been claimed off of VHLM waivers by the Moscow Red Wolves he'll be a great fit for them, wherever they play him -- but that's off topic. Right now were here to discuss the kid's game. He's a top notch defender, and has shown to be capable of a position change to either Goal Keper or Defenseman. He values defense a lot -- which is why recently it has been one of the main thing he's been working on. But then again, his scoring his horrible. Centers are two way players -- and scoring will be need to be worked on if he wants to play his natural position. Anyways, let's start this scouting report.

NAME: MARCUS EISENHOWER

AGE: EIGHTEEN

HEIGHT: SIX FEET & THREE INCHES

WEIGHT: ONE HUNDRED & EIGHTY NINE POUNDS

BEST QUALITY: DEFENSE

NATURAL POSITION: CENTER

BIRTHPLACE: GERMANY

BIRTH DATE: JULY TWENTY SEVENTH

Eisenhower will go down as the VHL's best defender.. EVER. Remember I said it, the kid  will be a prime example of a " shut down defender ". Not only is he a good defender, but his passing in combination with his defense will make him a deadly player. With his puck handling -- he has the ability to drive through defenses up court, and make amazing passes to deadly scorers on his team -- setting them up for goals. Throughout his career though, he should be able to become a efficient scorer.

During Eisenhower's childhood -- he was involved in several fights with his foster family after being sent to foster care by his parents, for standing up for equal rights. Which is why -- Eisenhower is a very aggressive player. His checking is on point, a long with his strength. Luckily for him, along with that -- he has good puck handling, and skating as most players do -- which are both very important. Anyways, let's look deeper into his strengths and weaknesses.

-- STRENGTHS

  • Defense
  • Passing
  • Puck Handling
  • Strength
  • Skating
  • Puck Handling
  • Checking

As stated above, Eisenhower is an amazing defender. He's a ball hawk -- which is why he fits the Center position well. To be a good defender, strength is needed. He needs to be able to take on big hits from strong forwards who are trying to drive through him in, to score. He is very durable and strong -- which is why he's good at checking also. Skating and puck handling are mandatory stuff for a successful hockey career -- so that's no surprise. All professional hockey players are good skaters and good at handling the puck.

-- WEAKNESSES

  • Scoring
  • Average Speed
  • Face Offs
  • Constant Fighting
  • Penalty Box Minutes
  • Drugs
  • Off Ice Problems

Recently, we have realized Eisenhower is a huge problem off the ice. Not only have we learned he does drugs -- and is a marijuana user, but he also has been in several bar fights -- implying he is a heavy drinker. The reports aren't recent, so hopefully he has changed -- but you can never tell. Another huge problem is his constant fighting. In High School Eisenhower lead his team in PIMs, and unfortunately for him -- it has dropped his draft stock. He'll need to tone done a bit, and prove to scouts it the VHLM that he doesn't have to fight every other minute. Last but not least, if Eisenhower wants to be a true two way Center, he'll have to work on his scoring. He has the puck handling to take the puck across the ice -- but he just isn't a good finisher.

Overall, Eisenhower is a good player -- and I see Eisenhower becoming a top player in the VHL, in his sophmore season.

I'm kind of confused here. Are you a defenseman or a center? I loved the approach with this, but I thought this could have used a brief back story or stats or history on where you played previously. Other than that, this was good and focused a lot on the pros and cons.

I agree with what Svoboda said here. However, I actually really like the way you did this though. With a little more story, I think this would have been perfect. I really liked that you included such a strong strength and weakness section - not everyone does it, but it really should be included in rookie profiles/scouting reports.
