Exploring a New World

 

For Cadmael Ixazaluoh, the world is his oyster. Having never left his homeland prior to the VHLM, he has taken every opportunity to explore the world around him. Though his loudest criticism in recent weeks, has come from none other than his own homeland. The blowback from his leap into hockey has sent Guatemalans into a social media frenzy, calling him "not a true Guatemalan" and saying things like "Keep him". We sat down with Ixazaluoh again to get his thoughts on this, and to pick his brain about his time in VHLM, so far:

• Interviewer: Cadmael, a pleasure to see you again. I hope you've been well.
• Cadmael: It is nice to see you again as well! I have learned more English since our last time, so hopefully this makes more sense.
• Interviewer: I can already tell the difference! How are you enjoying hockey?
• Cadmael: It is certainly much harder than what I imagined. Everyone else is the same size as me, and the game is certainly more physical then what I am used to.
• Interviewer: Do you think this will put you at a disadvantage for the draft? You're already slated to go sometime early on in the draft based on your media presence alone.
• Cadmael: I am not concerned with when I am picked. I want to do my country proud. That is all.
• Interviewer: Speaking of, it seems that there have been some, well, what we would call "haters" on social media from your own country saying some heinous things. How do you respond?
• Cadmael: All I say is this, I will do my country proud, or fail trying.
• Interviewer: Cadmael, a pleasure to talk with you as always.
• Cadmael: Thank you.

 

It goes without saying, that with his introduction into his new life, he will face new challenges. Will he overcome them and make a name for himself in the league, or will he peter away. Only time will tell.
