NHL Network Ice Time: Nathan MacKinnon reflects on journey to NHL - YouTube

We are just past the mid-way point of the latest VHL season and today we sit down with Tom Eagles to discuss about his season and the Wranglers team.

R: Hey Tom, Thanks for joining us. It's always a pleasure to sit down with you and ask you questions the fans want to know
TE: Always happy to be here and I love answering questions that fans may want to know.

R: First let's talk about your current season, you have been on fire and will probably set career highs in assists and points after already setting a career high in goals, What is your take on this?
TE: Well it's the first time in my career where I am over a point a game as well as setting a career high in goals. My game has really improved offensively this season and the tactics the Wranglers are using this season have really helped elevate my game. The team has also been playing great and when your team is playing great and have plenty of on ice chemistry you're bound to play well.

R: How many points do you think you will have at the end of the season?
TE: To be honest, it all doesn't matter unless we win the cup. That is and always has been my focus. It's great to get individual points but for those to mean anything to me I have to win a cup.

R: That's always great to hear, you were also announced as an assistant captain this season, has this added any extra pressure for you?
TE: I don't think it has, if anything it has really helped elevate my game. The team looks to me as a leader and I have to lead by example. If the team sees me giving 100% day in and day out then they will give 100% as well. I have always said we have a great core of players here and that hasn't changed. We have plenty of leaders on the team and this is what makes the Wrangler a great team to play for.

R: Do you believe the team has what it takes to win it all or will some sort of upgrade be needed at the deadline?
TE: I think we have it. Sometimes trade deadline players end up being rentals and do more to hurt the team then help. I honestly believe we have what it takes with our current group. Either way I know that the management of this team will do what it can to make us better.

R: Any surprised this year from the Wranglers?
TE: I would have to say Perry. He has been killing it, he is leading the team in points and tied for first in the league. He has been playing some incredible hockey and is one of the reasons we are playing as well as we are. He has been good previously but this season he has just exploded and been playing like someone possessed. That's what a good leader does and has been pushing us to play better.

R: Thanks Tom, that's all the questions we have today!
