I think it would be better if it maybe maybe matched the jersey the player is wearing. It would also make the player stand out more if you blurred out the background, or possibly tinted it to highlight the player in this graphic. A small border might look nice around the picture as well, and the text could use to be a different fond, one that is just more bold or thicker.
