Hulk Hogan 2 Scouting Report

With the VHLM season nearing its end, the 6’8 monster Hulk Hogan 2 is going to be entering the VHLE and VHL draft. He is projected as being a mid-high first round pick according to several different draft rankings and sources. We’ve compiled some scouting reports to make a final report for all VHLE and VHL GM’s interested in picking him in the upcoming draft.

Pros:

Hulk Hogan 2 has proved to the VHLM he is capable of passing just as the original Hogan was. With 80 assists, he is second on the leaderboard, only falling short by two to Finn Davis of the Ottawa Lynx. Over the season, Hogan 2 has been consistently climbing the leaderboard and could potentially pass Davis soon with a few good games.

While being a pass first player, Hogan 2 has also made it clear to goalies to watch out for his shot. 35 Goals ties him for 17th most in the league, with 25 of them being on the powerplay for second most league wide. If there's no slot open, Hogan 2 is able to fire one in behind the goalie, making him a versatile offensive player.

As previously mentioned, 25 goals is enough to put him in second for the most scored on the powerplay in the league. Not only does he score with a man advantage, he racks up the assists as well. Hogan 2 has the 3rd most assists on the powerplay in the league with an impressive 28. Adding his goals and assists together he totals 53, more than any other player in the VHLM by 7.

Cons:

Despite being a top scorer in the league and being on the high scoring team, Hogan 2’s +/- hasn’t been able to keep up with his teammates. Eight of the best VHLM +/-’s come from players on the Yukon Rush, with Mulds and Colors topping the list at 82 and 81. This means that Hulk Hogan 2 is the only one out of Yukon’s top nine scorers to not have made the list. With his +/- of 44 he is 16th in the league. While 16th is not bad at all, it’s a big drop off compared to teammates who are in the 70s and 80s.

With his enormous frame, it comes as no surprise Hogan 2 attempts to lay the body on smaller players. With the mindset of dropping others, big hits arise, resulting in a good play for the team. But in other situations, he can miss his opponents, leaving an open line towards the net. If Hogan 2 was able to play slightly smarter he would still be able to crunch the opposition while staying a defensive beast.

Hogan 2 has proven that scoring isn’t a big problem, accuracy on his shots can be. Hogan 2 often has hit shots either miss the net or get blocked by the other team. While the majority of shots taken still make it through, a slight improvement in his accuracy could result in much more opportunities for the team.

Overall, Hulk Hogan 2 is looking to be one of the best defensemen and players in the season 81 draft. With the draft scheduled to be in a few weeks Hogan 2 is looking forward to joining a new league and has been working on his game to prove it.
