Daniel Janser 2,169
Swiss Central Gazzette Two games have been played since we last wrote from our local hockey exports. It was a double round when the teams play twice against the same opponent. This time it was the Saskatoon Wild, one of the weaker teams in the league (11th rank). However, every game starts with 0-0 and must first be won before you can add the points to your tally. In the first match, the Wild had no intention whatsoever to fall easy prey to the Reapers, as the game went into over time and Philadelphia had to work extra time to get the two points in a 6-5 win. The Reapers were the first team on the scoreboard, with only 7:33 minutes played. Dan faked a shot and passed to Sanderson, he one-touched it to Ixazaluoh who hammered it home for the 1-0. This was the only goal of the period. The second period went 3-2 to the Philadelphia team, with Laperriere (his first for the Reapers), Jones and Mursu scoring for them. Alas, the Wild did not surrender and scored three unanswered goals, two of them in power play (AL and Powers were the culprits for the respective penalties). Two minutes before the final horn, Ixazaluoh scored on the power play, assisted by Jones and Sanderson to tie the game. The sudden death was brought to the Wild by Powers who was assisted by the Janser brothers. Arpa had a rather bad day and was outperformed by Wumbo (.762 vs .846). The Reapers' power play was decent (1/3) while the penalty killing was sub-par (3/5). The three stars were C (4g/0a), Ixazaluoh (2g/1a) and Fingers (1g/3a). Marcel logged 0g, 1a and +0 Daniel had 0g, 2a and +2 to his name. In the re-match, the Reapers won by 4-1. The first period came and went with no goals scored, as both teams worked very disciplined and concentrated on the defense. In the second period, Marcel dug out the puck in the own defensive end, passed to Mursu who relayed the disc to AL, slapshot, goal. Lamb in power play, Ixazaluoh and Simeoni scored the remaining goals for the Pennsylvanian outfit. Arpa had the better of Wumbo this time with .929 vs .892. The special teams were improved as well compared to the previous match with 1/3 in power play and 3/3 in penalty kill. The three stars went to Ixazaluoh (1g/2a), AL (1g/1a) and Fingers (1g/0a). Marcel was reported with 0g, 1a and +0 Daniel noted 0g, 0a, +0 and 3 hits (most of his team) The Reapers are on track for the set goal (5th overall) and we are excited to see whether they really will do it. The Jansers stats so far: Marcel: 63gp, 13g, 38a, 51pts, -1, 46 PIM, 69 hits, 130sb, 1gwg, 6ppg Daniel: 63gp, 35g, 34a, 69pts, -10, 42 PIM, 133 hits, 25sb, 6geg, 10ppg, 1shg Please see related articles: https://vhlforum.com/topic/110021-a-tale-of-two-brothers-giant-slayers/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/110044-s81-vhl-mock-draft/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/110040-minion-presents-7-return-and-season-81-draft-top-ten-hottest-prospects/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/110061-a-tale-of-two-brothers-three-quarters-done/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/110105-daniel-janser-scouting-report/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/110105-daniel-janser-scouting-report/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/110113-a-tale-of-two-brothers-getting-there/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/110141-a-tale-of-two-brothers-climbing-the-ladder/ Edited October 24, 2021 by Daniel Janser Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/110250-a-tale-of-two-brothers-payoffs-in-sight/ Share on other sites
jRuutu 2,464
8.5/10 Nice recap article! I liked the quick mentions of the first goal for Laperriere and the comparisons between players. They give the reader extra information and also make the article fun to read. Good stuff. Font color is slightly hard on the eyes, especially the green. A picture could be a nice addition and formatting/structure could be cleaner. For example some space between the three stars and the first paragraph.
