Our local hockey exports had their first two play-off games since we last reported from Philadelphia. Unfortunately, both games went to the Storm, which lead the series 2-0 accordingly.

The first game ended 3-2. It was the Reapers who took the lead after 8:28 minutes into the first period. Laperriere was set up for a tap in after a text book puck relay via dokis and Jp. Barely 42 seconds into the second the Storm equalized the game and after 5:02 minutes played in the third, they went ahead. However, Sanderson with a slapshot from the blue line in power play assisted by Ixazaluoh and Lamb tied the game anew. Three minutes before the final horn, the Minnesota team scored the game winner. The Reapers were heavily outshot by the Storm (14 vs 37) and they could thank Arpa for keeping them in the game for as long as he did with a whopping .919 save rate (Grubauer had .857). We fail to understand why the Pennsylvanian netminder was not considered in the three stars who consisted of Pearce (2g/0a), Glove Dropper (1g/1a) and Laperriere (1g/0a). The Philadelphian power play was acceptable (1/5) while the penalty killing was quite good (6/7).

Marcel had 0g, 0a, +0 and 3 shots blocked (tied second of the team)

Daniel posted 0g, 0a, -2, 2 PIM (Holding Stick, no consequence on the score) and 3 hits (tied first of the team)

The second match's final score was 5-3 for the Minnesota franchise. This time, the Storm opened the score, but Jp equalized only 16 seconds later. He was helped by Laperriere and dokis. Unfortunately their opponents scored three consecutive goals which all but sealed the deal already, as the Reapers were not able to catch up on the score board. Around the half-time mark, Ixazaluoh converted in power play on a pass from Daniel, who fake-shot and made the D-men go to the ground to open the space for Cadmael's one timer. Dan had received the puck from Mursu. The final goal in the game was scored by Daniel, who deflected Mursu's shot (which was going wide) in Bobby Orr style (mid-flight, that is). Jp had the second assist on this power play goal. Arpa had again a marvellous game with 48 saves on 53 shots (or .906). For the second time in a row Grubauer was outperformed (.875 from 24 shots against) but has the win in his stats. The three stars were Delisle (who started the season as a Reaper, 1g/1a), Godlander (1g/2a) and Pearce (1g/2a). The Reapers' powerplay was good (2/4) same as the penalty kill (6/8).

Marcel was reported with 0g, 0a, -1 and 2 PIM (Holding, no goal scored during his stint in the sin bin)

Daniel was noted with 1g, 1a, +0 and 4 hits (tied first of the team)

The coach has announced that some adjustments are being made for the next games, and we are confident that the Reapers will give the Storm a run for their money.

The Janser's playoff stats are as follows:

Marcel: 2gp, 0g, 0a, 0pts, -1, 2 PIM, 0 hits, 4sb

Daniel: 2gp, 1g, 1a, 2pts, -2, 2 PIM, 7 hits, 0sb, 1ppg

Stay tuned for our next update.
