Coming in at a game breaking 6'5" and 210 pounds, Jarome Iginla is currently taking the VHLM by storm. The once highly touted prospect coming out of Boston College had taken a severe downfall to his game after being claimed by the Brampton Blades in S39 of the Victory Hockey League Minors. Jarome Iginla scored just a measly 18 points (5 goals, 13 assists) in 63 games last season with the Blades. However, the Blades ended up making the playoffs as the third seed in conference 1. So Iginla had some contribution to their success. Playoffs appeared to be no better for Iginla as he only got two assists in six games. We talked to teamates of Iginla back in Brampton, many of which describe him as "Inactive" "Selfish" "Not committed" "Ugly" "Loner." These are the words of former teammates of Iginla's. Iginla really had a horrible rookie season, he didn't even want to look forward to the VHLM Dispersal Draft, let alone the S39 VHL Entry Draft. Iginla ended up missing both the VHLM Dispersal Draft and the S39 VHL Entry Draft. The Media tried to follow his every move, but Iginla just didn't want to be seen at all.

After a few months of staying away from the Media and the sport of hockey for a solid three months, Jarome finally decided to make his return to the game. He stayed without technology for the time he was in exile, and once he finally turned on his phone it was flooded with emails. Most of these emails were from the press asking about his whereabouts. Jarome didn't have the time to go through 500 emails to see if he had any news about the draft, so he decided to head on over to VHL.com and check it out. Jarome was thinking the entire time that he would not be drafted for sure in the VHL after that horrendous season, but to his surprise, and many others Jarome was indeed taken. The Helsinki Titans of the Victory Hockey League took Jarome Iginla with their 15th selection of the draft. Jarome had no prior knowledge of this team, well frankly any team in the VHL, but he was so happy to be selected. After realizing he was drafted, Jarome went into his emails and searched for anything that said "Helsinki Titans" he found an email dated two months back from STZ of the Helsinki Titans "Welcome to the team!" It read, Jarome was so excited he called up his old GM of the Brampton Blades to tell him the news, but when his former GM told him to check out the dispersal draft, Jarome was in awe. He had also been drafted 29th overall in the VHLM Dispersal draft by the Saskatoon Wild, and he would be reporting to them at the seasons start.

Iginla came into training camp with a high head and high expectations of himself. Many other players around the league thought of Iginla as a nobody at this point in his career, and he wanted to change that in one season. Iginla ended up hurting himself on the first drill as he hadn't been on the ice since the last game of the playoffs. Jarome was placed on the injured reserve for 2-3 weeks, he came back but he was never the same player he used to be in college.

With 33 games through the season, Jarome Iginla has publicly stated, he will make a return back to the league. Jarome has already started training and via GM Svodoba "He has been making such good progress, this kid has done more training in two days than many players have been doing in weeks! He is really determined to make it back to his previous form in college"

Is Jarome Iginla back for real this time? Can the once 75 point scorer regain his form? Will the Helsinki Titans ever see this man play in their jersey? All these questions and more are soon to be answered.

I liked the story, but it acted more like a biography than a Rookie Profile. I think this should have had some back story to it, referring to where you played previous, maybe a comparison,or maybe some stats. You did a good job, minus the grammatical errors, and you displayed a good foundation to build off of. Don't let this discourage you.

Some trouble with quotations and proper punctuation involving it. If you ever need a tip or someone to proof read your stuff, I can help or anyone of the leagues great writers would be willing to assist.

While I agree with what Slobo said, I think its partly the fault of the rubric itself. It was a good read but its true it focused more on life than hockey.
