Chicago Phoenix Bright Spots Among the Losses

Recommended Posts

The Chicago Phoenix have no doubt been struggling this far through the season but that is not wholly unexpected. Management was very clear coming into the season, with both players and their fans, that this season would be the start of what they hope to be a short rebuild to bring the Phoenix back to the top of the standings in the coming seasons. With that said even with a rebuild underway there have been some bright spots on the team thus far.

In their final seasons of their careers both Lee Xin and Christian Mingle are having very good seasons. Xin and Mingle, both lifetime Chicago Phoenix players taken in the S74 draft, have been cornerstones of the Phoenix roster for the past 7+ seasons. In what can be viewed as their swan song campaigns they are both averaging well over a point per game and are looking to put a cap on what could be a couple of Hall of Fame careers if the votes go the right way.

As for new players Sunrise van de Schubbekuteveen is having an excellent rookie season with 12 points through 11 games as well as some great backend stats to back up the offense. There is a good chance he could be in discussions as a rookie of the year candidate. Look for big things out of Sunrise for many years in Chicago as he continues to develop his game.
