Geneva’s Woes

After an acceptable start for the relocated franchise of Geneva, their series of successes have come to a halt. And the young rookie, Sergey Preobrazhensky has been in the forefront of this. Although one could point a finger on one person, it’s inevitably on the whole team itself. Through this horrid stretch, Geneva has remarkably sucked, losing 8 games in a row at its lowest point. Things like lack of goaltending, terrible defense and the offense not being able to clutch up have been plaguing Geneva during the stretch.

Although, their most recent game against the Express handed them their first win in what seems like forever. Although their defense visibly was poor, Geneva’s offense stepped it up and won in exciting fashion with thrilling 5-4 win (SO). This win could just be the turning point for the new Geneva team, the locker room was pumped after the win and there was an obvious desire to keep on winning.

Although this’ll for sure be a season of growing pains for Geneva and it’s fans. Sergey and his teammates are trying to make the best out of it. They hope to continue to put up wins on the scoreboard. But only time will tell if this will really happen...
