Chicago Phoenix // Two Team Hall of Fame Inductions

Jean Pierre Camus was the first ever draft pick in the franchises history at seventh overall in S73 and was the team's starter all the way from S73 until his retirement in S80. No doubt in my mind the best goaltender of this generation he achieved pretty much everything a goalie can achieve. Two Shaw trophies as the best goaltender in the league, a championship, a finals MVP and even a Slobodzian as the league's most outstanding player in his final season. Jean Pierre Camus will go down as one of the top goaltenders to ever grace the VHL.

Matty Socks on the other hand may be one of the most underrated players in the VHL over the past 10 seasons. He was the second ever draft pick by the Chicago Phoenix when the team unexpectedly took him with the 22nd overall selection in the same draft that they landed Camus. Socks spent one additional season in the VHLM before breaking onto the scene with S74. While he may have never won an individual award the statistical pace he put up was pretty incredible. Between S74 and S80 he was the seventh highest scoring player, including forwards, and was second in shots blocked while mostly playing on competitive squads which is a huge feat.
