Dabnad Shaw is a well sized defenseman mostly known for his hockey IQ and high aggression levels. He is thought to be known as a very good defensive player who doesn’t think twice before he gets in front of the puck. He’s a fast paced player with a lot of discipline for someone his age. He’s also one of few players who isn’t ever lacking in a game of hockey and he makes sure that every play he’s in is a strong play with a good chance. In this report we’ll go over some of his pros and cons of this defensive player. With him playing in free agency in the first season pre debut, he hasn’t disappointed his team in the slightest bit.

PROS

Passing

Dabnad Shaw has always known for passing the puck around the rink making very good plays around the season including some plays which might be called in the highlight reel. He isn’t afraid to pass the puck even if he’s in a very risky place giving him an advantage over players which don’t pass as well

Blocking

Blocking has always been the biggest reason why Shaw is in the league itself. He’s a wall right in front of the puck many times even if he somehow is injured on the shift. He doesn’t know what being scared of the puck is as he records one of the highest blocks in any team he goes into

Checking

Being a defensive player, this was bound to happen. He is a very calm person when he’s on the ice which really helps him strip a player out of the puck and even just raw checking. He can also take the puck from a player without a sweat thanks to his high hockey IQ along with support from his other teammates

CONS

Shooting

While being one of the best passers in the game, he is a very poor shooter that plays the game. This could be a result of him paying attention to his other features a lot more than shooting however, shooting could be told as his weakest points in his entire game with minimal shooting and even when he shoots, it’s often weak and possibly never goes in.

Fighting

Being a calm player, he doesn’t often get into fights however, when he does get into fights he often loses them. As a big d-man you wouldn’t expect this from him however, Shaw doesn’t like fighting as he knows that it could very well ruin his game. This doesn’t help the fact that many times, players will try invoking him knowing that he doesn’t like to fight and often falls for it

Penalty Time

As said, Shaw doesn’t like fighting however, he ends up in the box a bit more than most other players in a game. This is possibly because of his agressive mindset however, this really drags his team down in moments where it’s not possible to kill a penalty

Shaw is a very promising player no matter what you think about him however, he can be a risk on his penalty time and lack of shooting giving a poor outlook for him unless he decides to pick his shooting a bit of pick up. Shaw is expected to be a top 20 draft pick if he can keep his progress doing as it is at the moment
