Will3 460
In Southeast Africa is the landlocked Republic of Zimbabwe. The country of roughly 15 million people, had experienced many hardships. Including white minority rule as Rhodesia, followed by a thirty year rule marked by human rights violations and a collapsing economy. Placing the Zimbabwe Rivermen within the capital and largest city of Harare is my way to add something good where many bad things have happened. This team name was chosen by my friend 16z because Zimbabwe lies between the Zambezi and Limpopo Rivers. The Zambezi River is known for explored by David Livingstone between 1851 and 1853 where he discovered Victoria Falls. The Limpopo River is know for being described be Rudyard Kipling as "great grey-green, greasy Limpopo River, all set about with fever-trees,," in his classic children book Just So Stories. Both rivers are important to Zimbabweans and fit as a team name. The colors of blue, green and white matches up to how these very different rivers are discribed.
