Three week TPE ban is not a fair and reasonable punishment for cheating. If these users manage to stick around for the long run with their current players and these players are relatively young, that three-week TPE ban can be taken as slightly harsher depreciation. Every year you lose 12 or whatever TPE more than normally. That is nothing. As a result of that ''punishment'' one of your skills is now 96 instead of 98, that is nothing.

What happens if new cases keep coming up? A lot of people are now aware of what happens if you do something like this, you get a three-week TPE ban. Is it valid to claim that they did not know any better? Who is the unlucky one not able to say they did not know any better? Can a user who runs multiple accounts at the same time even claim they did not know any better? They know the forum pretty well, they know how to do points tasks and how to claim TPE for those tasks. Somehow they still logged in and out of multiple accounts without thinking too much about it. They did not stop to think why there is passwords or usernames in the first place, they just kept going.

What if someone is not sorry that they cheated? What if someone wanted to cheat, do they get the same three-week slap on the wrists?

VHL reminds me of the Finnish justice system. For example, if you steal 4 to 6 cars, it's more or less the same as stealing one car. The punishment is the same. You might get fines or some time behind bars. How is stealing one car different than stealing 4 to 6 cars? Someone really needed to go somewhere, so they stole one car. Young people doing something stupid. Something that could be seen as a mistake. If you steal 4 to 6 six cars, you are a total piece of shit. Nobody steals 4 to 6 six car by ''accident'' or to have fun. You knew what you were doing. You are a criminal. You are not on the way to becoming a criminal. You are one.

It's doesn't really make sense that someone cheating and someone being a ''toxic'' person gets the same punishment. Cheating is way worse.

The toxicity and cheating are 2 different cases and are treated differently. If you see them getting the same punishements, its mainly because there is not so much ways to punish offenders on a forum/sim league other than a TPE ban or forum ban. What we can adjust is the time which also end up being on a weekly scale. So at the end of the day, it end up being 1, 2, 3, 4… weeks or perm bans. It does feels like they all get punishments in the same range but this is what we have.

As of your comparison with cars, we do take the amount of multis in consideration but this is not the only thing we take in consideration. We also take in consideration the cooperation of the user during the investigation. Lying about your multis can worsen your case while admiting it right away can help hour case. In the end, from an external point of view where you only see one single thing that we take in consideration, you might think that one got it easy and an other got it too harsh which makes our punishments looks inconsistent but there is more than just the numbers of multis.

I hope I answered some of your questions 🍻
