Teekirque to Sing Anthems

Jan 11, 2022

After recent diplomatic discussions revealed that James Teekirque, currently on loan to the Mississauga Hounds from the UFHD, has had some success in a second career as a musician, the VHLM brass have invited him to feature as anthem singer for a game in the finals. Teekirque, who is originally from earth, but not this earth, (Or maybe the future? It's not especially clear) says he is familiar with both the Canadian and American national anthems and is prepared to perform either.

"Although earth, well, my earth, has long since moved past the petty tribalistic squabbling of nation-states, it is an honor to be included in this tradition," Teekirque's press release stated.

Teekirque Panned as Anthem "Singer"

Jan 12, 2022

The performance of human-alien visitor James Teekirque as last night's national anthem singer has become the object of great derision.

Teekirque took a very unconventional approach to the anthems, choosing to perform both American and Canadian national anthems as spoken word, rather than singing in the normal sense of the word.

"Frankly, it's insulting that he thought this would be acceptable," commented one GM.

"Damnit Jim, you're a defenseman, not an anthem singer!" Tweeted UFHD Head Trainer "Sticks" McCoy.

UFHD Alternate, Mr Puck, noted, "A logical course of action would have been to listen to his album, first."
