Maellard, Warriors Strike Gold at Junior Showcase

The next player in what has become a largely underwhelming player agency, frescoelmo's Malum Maellard has his focus set on being an elite defenseman with little, if any, offensive prowess.  The focus today, however, has been the absolute wiping of the field in Season 82's (83?) rendition of the Junior Showcase Tournament.

 

Picked later than expected at 33rd overall, Malum offered general manager @leandrofg little in ways of opportunity, displaying some good defense albeit on some slow skates with a good check here and there to show for it.  "I found his agency during a (Houston) Bulls game and talked to fresco for a little bit, getting an idea of what kind of player Maellard was," leadnrofg explained to the media.  "Honestly, I came away from that conversation thinking he was probably going in the 3rd or 4th round.  And he just kept on falling; kind of like Rodgers fell into Green Bay's lap.  There was a lot of promise with this kid.  Just not many hours to show for it."

 

Maellard displayed first line effort and the statistics to show for it, despite playing on the 2nd line.  "An absolute beast," leandrofg committed.  "It paid off pretty well in the end".  Statistically relevant throughout the round robin tournament, Malum really shined thereafter, posting top 10 accolades in assists, hits, penalty minutes (lol), shots blocked, minutes played and to top it off, the only short-handed goal in the medal round.

 

With some gold in hand, Malum looks forward to this weekend's VHLM Draft, where he again hopes to prove doubters wrong.
