Recapping the VHLM Awards.

We're about to start the 83rd season, but it's time to recap the predictions made a while back to the S82 VHLM Awards presented tonight.

The Mitch Higgins Trophy, given to the Most Valuable Player, was awarded - as predicted - to Igor Molotov. The opposition was deserving, but Molotov showed all his worth in Miami and went 3rd Overall in the VHL Draft.

The Benoit Devereux Trophy, given to the Top Goaltender, was awarded - as predicted -  to Jay Saucey. The Italian, drafted with the 10th-pick of the S82 VHLM Draft, was definitely worth the pick with the stats he posted while defending the Marauders' net. Now he's tending for Bratislava in the VHLE, where he was picked 36th - an even bigger steal.

Finally, the wrongfully predicted Ryan Sullivan Trophy, given to the Top Defenseman, was awarded to Hammar Voss. Picked 16th in the S82 VHLM Draft was a steal. The stats he posted... incredible. Most definitely deserving of the recognition, and the 6th pick in this year's VHL Draft shows that. But, even the awardee knows the truth. As he took the stage to receive the award, he shared it with his "(...) more defensive-minded colleagues who probably deserve [the award or] more recognition (...)".

Now, it's time to look forward and start the new season.
