Split, not the horror story, just a heart divided between two cities.

The VHLE season has set sail, and it's now going full speed. We're 24 games into the season, and the Vasteras Iron Eagles lead the standings with 37 points, followed closely by the Bratislava Watchmen with 35.

So through a third of the season, we have found two contenders for the Renaissance Cup. Could they share something? Have some characteristics in common? They do have 17 wins, both.

That search can't be that easy as the comparable item can't be that superficial. We must look more closely at the rosters and management.

There is where we find what we're looking for.

In Vasteras, its second-highest point scorer, Leandro Goncalves. In his only season in the VHLE, he has found himself. After a tough start, he's now tearing it up, nailing a couple of 1st-star performances.

In Bratislava, Leandro's alter ego, Zef. In his first season as an AGM, the Watchmen have been outplaying everyone's expectations.

Is this a coincidence? I think not.
