As the Warsaw Predators fight for a playoff spot in season 83.  Rookie defenseman, Brian Payne, has demonstrated true grit on the ice.  The young tough guy is determined to lift his team into the playoffs and has no problem dropping the gloves to generate excitement and boost his teammates.

Payne leads the team in PIMS, and is second in hits and shots blocked.  He’s also dropped the gloves more than a busy gynecologist.  Payne started his VHL tough guy career slowly.  Barely winning his first fight and then ending in a draw on his next two fights, Payne decided to toughen up and add some grit.  Since then he’s won his last five fights and has the opposing teams stuttering when things get tight.

With all of Payne’s toughness and true grit, he has yet to face his biggest challenge.  That will come when the Chicago Phoenix stud defenseman, Bo Johansson, decides its time to put the “Payne Train” in the junk yard.  Until then Payne is on a terror.
