Teekirque in Trouble?

Expensive exhibition leads to excogitation of economic emergency

A recent fan appreciation event held by HC Davos Dynamo defenseman James Teekirque has lead to some speculation that the starfaring skater is in a financial crunch. The event was advertised recently on Teekirque’s social media accounts, with Teekirque’s image featured prominently. Less prominently featured was the admission price: $400 a head. This exorbitant cost has some fans shaking their own heads, and has drawn harsh criticism.

Romulan Center Sub-Commander Tal told reporters, “This is just the sort of self-aggrandizing greed that can be expected from Teekirque, and humans in general.”

Perhaps more controversial than the admission price is the complete disconnect between Teekirque and Davos’ ownership. A quick email exchange with the Davos’ PR department revealed that the team has no knowledge of any fan appreciation event, which raises the question, is this a team-sanctioned activity? The use of Davos’ logo in promotional material without the team’s consent is at best a legal gray area, and at worst an outright violation of the team’s trademark.

This is not Teekirque’s first public relations incident since arriving on earth, with the young defenseman already with a video of him ranting about not being selected for an award having gone viral. This one seems even more dubious, with Teekirque allegedly coming from a post-scarcity society.
