Sharks Announce John MacLean as Assistant Coach

After a late-season run by the Istanbul Red Wolves, led by the offensive resurgence of Landon Wolanin, Jason Argos, and Siyan Yasilievich, the Red Wolves were able to land themselves in the last available playoff spot, playing the Bratislava Watchmen in a 7 game series to see who will advance to the finals.

After 3 close and hard fought games, Istanbul is up in the series 2-1. At the moment, the Istanbul Red Wolves are showing depth in numbers, with 8 players racking up 2 points or more in the 3 playoffs games played so far.

We got to chat with Tomas Sogaard after game 3 to get his opinion on the latest game and the series thus far.

"Right now, the chemistry in the lockerroom is great. Today was a massive win to get a leg up in the series, finishing the game with 8/8 successful penalty kills. We are definitely going to need our special teams to keep playing at a high level as there is still a lot of hockey to be played, and with Bratislava being a strong team, we can't let off the gas pedal for a second. This is a great team to play for, and we don't want this party to end. We'll be seeing it through until the end, hopefully talking to you next week and through to the finals."
