For a number or Lynx players, their VHLM careers are coming to a quick close.  Forwards Thomas O'Malley, Aksel Thomassen, Andrew Erikson, James Faraday, and Leo Tesla as well as defenseman Jerrick Poole will all be ineligible to return to Ottawa and will be forced to play for their respective VHL clubs.  But, because of this inevitability, these players whose rights are owned by teams throughout the VHL and, in the case of O'Malley and Poole, not yet drafted, they will be looking to claim the elusive Founder's Cup, a prize many players never have the opportunity to earn.  After falling down three games to one to the Saskatoon Wild in the North American Finals, these players realized the urgency of winning and took it upon themselves to mount an incredible comeback that saw the Lynx dominate en route to a series win in seven games and a trip to the finals.

Many around the league see this upcoming series against the Oslo Storm as a virtual lock for the Lynx.  While it is apparent that anything truly can happen, it's also very difficult to imagine that the Storm will be able to keep up with Ottawa in a seven game series. Crazier things have happened, though, but Ottawa is geared up and ready to solidify their place as the best team in the VHLM this season.
