It’s another start to the season and it looks to be a decent beginning for Warsaw, 3 wins and 2 loses in the first 5 games. The current standings show Warsaw Predators tied in 3rd with 5 other teams in the European Division. If you Asked anyone on the team if that’s where they thought they would be, they would say, no, they thought they would be on 4 or 5 wins, but Warsaw is anything but worried, they are just looking forward to the next game. The team may see a big boost as we go through more games, and the gap will likely start to form, and yes Warsaw will be still in the top 3 of Europe. Warsaw’s team is one of the better teams and will probably be on many lists mentioning they will go far.

Individual efforts are great, but one player who has not really shown his worth is Brendan Marner, after the huge contract that Marner had just signed, many people expected him to be the best player on the team by far, however he has only 3 points in the 5 games, making him much overrated and overpaid. Brendan Marner will need to step up in a big way for the team if he expects the team to stick behind him. He hasn’t got many minutes, but even in the minutes he has played he’s got some of the worst points per 20 minutes out of anyone on the team. Brendan Marner might expect to be brought down to the 2nd line to see if that gives him the boost of confidence, but it is surprising to say less that this player is not performing after the end to his season last season.

Although Warsaw has had some tough matchups, they are still early in the year that they can turn things around. As the Season 83 showed us, the team is not the best at the start of the season, so you might expect some of the same results this year. Even if you wanted a different result for that slow start, in the end, the best thing to hope for is a quicker turn around, and that is exactly what I will predict right now.

Warsaw doesn’t have much space to do anything if they wanted to, the most likely scenario would be to get a 4th defence, but that will be hard to find one at 50% retained. An upgrade in net could work too, but it really wouldn’t do much, with Wumbo improving daily. Yes, yes, everyone is talking about Booberry being way to tough, but its hard-to-find goaltenders at that level, he wasn’t drafted 1st overall for nothing. Yes, Warsaw is letting in a few more goals than expected, but the goals for is unexpectedly bad, without help on the offense, defense and goaltending cannot be the problem, with other teams outside of the playoffs getting more goals than Warsaw, there is a clear problem in Warsaw, and they would need to touch that up before the defense, but maybe that’s just me.
