The New York Americans are currently with only 8 points in 19 games, showing to be the worst team in the VHL right now. New York would be one of the last teams you might expect to be so low, but looking at their players, it’s a little hard to tell what they are trying to do. While they have an older regressing team, they have some of the best players that are still in the game such as Jerome Reinhart and Sven Eightnine. Other than those 2 players, the rest don’t seem to be as good as they are on the edge of retirement, so the question is, why don’t they trade these top players? Well, Reinhart is the GMs son, but that could not get in the way of business, so it would not be a surprise if one or both of these players end up leaving the Americans by the end of the season as picks and prospects can potentially come back in the return. Other than that, you just need to look at New Yorks Prospect pool and see that they are not shy at picking as many prospects as possible. It seems like New York is a rebuilding team, but I think they should really rebuild and drop those top defencemen.
