Bulduray_1 274
New Look Preobrazhensky? Moscow- Although there was immediate hesitancy and worry about the “new look” Moscow Menace. It seems like the doubt has quelled as the season continues. So far, the Menace have posted almost unreal numbers and statistics in games. With such success comes new players that are brought into the spotlight. Watson Power has been heavily underrated during Moscow’s run, stepping up to become a reliable defensemen that brung depth to Moscow’s defense unit. Who is already on pace to break his offensive point totals from when he first got into the league by a wide margin. Or how about the new rookie Tomas Sogaard? Who has been able to fit comfortably into the team and surprising others having been slotted third overall in points for rookies. Although these early success stories are spectacular, we cannot talk about the Menace and its success without bringing up the intangible Sergey Preobrazhensky. He has brung out all his potential this season, being able to help the Menace win games a multitude of times throughout the twenty five games the Menace has already played. Looking at the numbers, one can already tell that Sergey has taken a giant step forward in his game. Appearing near the top in point leaderboards and other offensive categories. After an electrifying win against Warsaw 4-3, Sergey had the opportunity to sit down for some questions with reporters. Reporter: “Hello Sergey, congrats on such a big win against the Predators. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that you’ve seemed much more confident on the ice, resulting in more offensive output. Is there anything you can put your finger on that helps you to become more relaxed and calm while on the ice?” Sergey: “To be honest, I feel like the only thing that legitimately helped me become more comfortable with not only my team, but the VHL, was the experience. After two seasons of being exposed to the VHL, I’ve already handled a ton of things a normal person my age wouldn’t have dreamt of experiencing. Through hours of games, hardships and training I’ve been able to relax in my skin. And this comfortability on the ice will only grow once I grow older. “ Reporter: “You’ve started on the right foot this season. How do you make sure you keep up such brilliance on the ice once the season becomes more tedious going forward?” Sergey: “I just got to remember not to take the gas off the pedal. I worked my ass off to get to where I am today, and I’m not going to ruin this season for myself because I lack consistency.” So far Sergey and his Moscow Menace have been on quite of a roll so far. Everyone in the VHL knows this team has the talent to go far this season. The question is do they have the perseverance and courage to keep the good times on a roll? Both the players and fans of Moscow hope they have what it takes to meet success this season.
