My quickest method to earning Capped TPE

Hello VHLers, I want TPE and so I am writing a Media Spot on how I can make it fast and easy. I am going to be going through the routine I use each week to earn myself the weekly cap of 12 TPE.

Point Task

Media Spot - 6 TPE

For the beginning of each week, I like to start off tackling the biggest form of TPE earning, the point task. A point task is worth 6 TPE and can be done in the form of a Media Spot, Podcast, or Graphic/Video. You can only do one point task per week though, the rest of your capped TPE must come from supplemental tasks which I will cover later in this article. As you can tell from me writing the media spot that you are reading right now, I like to choose Media Spots. They are 500 word minimum written articles that are VHL related.

I feel as if I have so many ideas to write about, so usually I just grab a bunch and throw them together in a general topic. For example: This past week I wrote a media spot talking about the first week for the Houston Bulls in the VHLM. Being their GM, I am around the team a lot, I know what is going on, and I see all of the talks in the locker room and around the league. So this is a pretty easy topic for me to write about. I wanted to showcase my players, their earning abilities, their activity, I wanted to showcase the team and how they are performing, and I basically just wanted the community to see how great this team and the members part of it are. So I threw that all together for a 1000 word article, starting with talking about the team, and then specifically talking about each player on the team. With my article being 1000 words, I was able to claim it for two weeks and not worry about making a point task next week. One week claim is 500 words, Two weeks is 1000, Three weeks is 1500 and Four weeks is 2000+.

Your media spot does not have to be serious, it can be as creative and funny as you want. You can talk about players around the league getting in fights, teams in the off-season playing golf and partying, you can even talk about your player's dog and how it has boosted their morale so much that your player is now a god in the league. I don't know, think about anything you want, make it VHL related, type 500 words, there is your 6 TPE Point Task for the week.

Supplemental Tasks

Press Conference - 2 TPE

Press Conferences are hands down the easiest supplemental task to do. Anyone can post or answer anyone else's press conference, it does not have to be your own team's. When posting a press conference, you write 6 questions for someone to answer, preferably about the VHL. When answering a press conference, you answer those 6 questions someone wrote for you. The answers do not have to be paragraphs long, a sentence or two is perfect. Answering press conferences with a couple of words is frowned upon though, and the updaters will most likely not approve your TPE. As Houston's GM, I post weekly press conferences for my players to answer which takes me a minute to do. I think of 3-4 questions about the team, their players, the league, etc., then I think of 2-3 questions about random stuff. Like what is your favorite meal of the day? Where is a travel destination you would want to go to? It is super simple and fast to do.

If you do not have a team or just do not want to answer your team's press conference, another option is our Ask 3, Answer 3. You ask 3 questions, and you answers 3 questions from someone else in the thread.

Trivia - 2 TPE

Trivia in my opinion is the second easiest supplemental task to do. You get two trivia questions per week worth 1 TPE for each question. If you struggle on a question, you can easily ask a teammate or GM and they will most likely have the answer. I have had a lot of fun helping my Bulls players with Trivia this season and seeing how happy they are for quick and easy TPE. For Trivia the main three things I use to find answers are:

Most questions I see are about team/player records, so the Hall of Fame links are key. I mainly use the first two bullets, but if I am really stuck on a question, the search bar always has the answer I need. If you use quotations (") around your phrase it will specifically find those topics with that phrase in it, which is very helpful.

VHL.com Article - 2 TPE

Like the Media Spot, a VHL.com Article is a written article that is VHL related. The reason this article is worth 2 TPE is because you only need to write 250 words. These articles are where I like to focus on my player. I may talk about how he is doing through sims, or I could go right off the board and talk about his personal, fictional life. It is pretty fun making up random and weird scenarios talking about your player's life. One time I made up a random fine for my player since he was out past team's curfew. Another time I wrote about my player's vacation trip. These article do not need to be serious, they can be funny and creative. As long as they are in some what way revolved around the VHL they are totally fine to do.

And there you go, 12 TPE done just like that. On average it takes me around 20-30 minutes per week to earn my maximum cap TPE. I timed myself writing this 1000 word article and it took me only 25 minutes. Writing a 500 word article would then be about 12.5 minutes. Now I can claim it for two weeks and not have to worry about making a point task for the following week. Two weeks of 6 TPE Point Tasks done in 25 minutes! It is not rocket science!

So really it is not hard to be a top earner in this league, as long as you take a bit of time out of your day each week, you can grow your player immensely.
