Lets have a Debate. 

 

We had the science institute at the VHL sports science offices are conducting research on which attribute is the single more important attribute for a goal scorer to have to be important in our league. We have reached our to VHL.com to help broaden our reach so we can get answers to bring you the latest and most up to date research.

 

When looking at forwards, and goal scoring specifically, we can conclude that there is really 4 attributes that are the most important. Two of these four seem like no brainers, they work on offensive attributes that help build a strong base for long term dominance. The other two however are more "dark horses" and often overlooked however with a history of a league where defense lead to offense, they can be big factor in overall offensive output.

 

Lets start with the obvious. Offensive vision is one of the most important parts of being an offensively gifted player. Scoring and passing both depend heavily on this attribute. Next is slap shot. With this we know that not only does this help with scoring from anywhere on the ice, but it helps make sure your player has the strength to keep the puck near him to do so. 

 

The two dark horse picks are as followed. First would have to be stick handling. Generally, players with great stick handling are masters with the puck and can do so at high speed with their well developed skating. The second dark horse pick would be deking. This takes a different approach than the rest. Not only is deking helping players to keep the puck on their stick but it also aids in the defensive zone so players could have their defense lead to offense.

I gotta go with Offensive Vision. Scoring and Passing both being a 0.3 ratio per upgrade and those attributes are mainly targeted for point production in the VHL. Whenever someone wants a scoring build they target the scoring attribute to upgrade and whenever someone wants a passing build they target the passing attribute.

 

Deking would be my runner up since puck handling obviously helps you control the puck, and then the defence attribute is just so over powered in STHS.
