Bulduray_1 274
Moscow Success Story Moscow - As the VHL Regular Season slowly is on the verge of dying out once again. Teams across North America and Europe will once again compete for the prestigious Continental Cup that gets handed out at the end of every season. Some teams go in as underdogs who have yet to show their full potential. While others go in with the pressure of the whole VHL community, they know that they’re the favourites and have a lot at stake. Which perfectly describes the S84 Moscow Menace roster. Looking back to the start of the season, everyone knew that this Moscow Menace team would be a tough team to compete against, despite losing some top tier talent in Duncan Idaho and Paul Atreides in the offseason. What others didn’t know though, was just how up to the challenge this new Menace team was, despite what was told about them on paper. Resulting in blowing out their competition out of the water, placing first in the VHL standings with 108 points. Today we have centermen Sergey Preobrazhensky, who has played a vital role in Moscow’s success this season here to answer some questions we have been waiting to ask. Reporter: Hello Sergey, the Moscow Menace have been on quite a roll this season, going as far as to win the Victory Cup award for the top regular season team. What things did this Menace team do to make such a dream become a reality? Sergey: It’s simple, coming into training camp, we knew that we had more weight on our shoulders than ever before. This whole team took matters into our own hands and we kept everyone on the same page about our goals and what we are trying to accomplish out on the ice. Which is what has kept us in games and helped us become so successful this season. Reporter: It seems like your offensive stats this season are showing very little improvement from last year, any thoughts? Sergey: Although I would’ve to expand on my point totals from last year, my numbers are still very respectable. Not only that, I feel like I’ve improved on different aspects on the ice and I have become much more mature on the ice since I first arrived at the VHL. Reporter: It’s certain that the Moscow Menace will be back in the playoffs once again this season. I’m sure you’ve known about Moscow’s struggles in the playoffs for a while now, what do you hope for your team come playoff time? Sergey: All I hope for is that this team plays with the same confidence and swagger as we had in the regular season. As long as that happens, I know for sure that we’ll see Moscow hoist the cup once and for all. The Moscow Menace are back once again for a playoff run, as mounting pressure from the fans and players continues, can the Menace finally call themselves VHL winners? Only time will tell what the future holds for them. Spartan 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/124824-moscow-success-story/ Share on other sites
