The Calgary Wranglers have been rolling lately, with a 10-2-1 record in their last 13 games. This is a clutch stretch of games for a team who's been up and down all season trying to hold on to a playoff spot. Things might not be easy for them, as they are neck and neck with the Toronto Legion, and one of them is going to end up in a wild card spot.

Saku Kotkakoivu is a player of note for sure, as last season he took home multiple individual awards after blowing away the league as a producer. Points, goals, and whatever else you want. He brought it to the table.

This season, you could definitely say that he took a bit of a back seat. His team around him got a ton better, so that 122 points in 72 games hasn't been asked of him. He does have 78 points in 67 games, so he'll likely hit that 80 point milestone, but of course that's not even close to the 122 he put up prior. His current 34 goals isn't going to come close to the 59 he reached last season either. One area where he stepped it up a notch is his physicality. Last season, he reached 184 hits. This season he's upped that number by almost 100, with 270 hits in 67 games, and that's good for the top 10 in the whole VHL.

"My team has been so great this season offensively. 6 of us have over 60 points, so it's been great to see the points be spread out over the lineup. My role has changed a bit, and it's nice to see the young guys get that offense going."
