Molly the Cat, Road to the VHL

Molly the Cat began their hockey career with the San Diego Marlins in Season 83. Molly the Cat was a late addition to the league and so played their entire first season undrafted. Playing alongside top talent like Tyler Busser, Jordan Bennett and AK92 Wit da Hoodie assisted in Molly the Cat’s development. Learning the ropes of the VHL hockey program under GM Frank and AGM jacobcarson877 assisted Molly the Cat in quick acclimatizing to their league and the expectations. The San Diego Marlins went to the finals in Season 83 but lost to the Las Vegas Aces.

Molly was drafted in Season 84 by the Vasteras Iron Eagles of the VHLE and the London United of the VHL. Joining the Vasteras Iron Eagles provided Molly the Cat with a new perspective on training and development; one that was slightly more independent. It was a maturing process that was needed to assist Molly the Cat in attaining independence that will support their VHL experience. Molly the Cat was named Assistant Captain and took on a leadership role in the locker room. Being able to play alongside talented players like Christopher Young and Dogwood Maple continued to push Molly the Cat towards VHL excellence. GM Arce and AGM Lemons fostered a team atmosphere that encouraged everyone to be their best while providing room to learn from failure. The Vasteras Iron Eagles went to the finals in Season 84 but lost to the Istanbul Red Wolves in a tough fought series.

Now entering Season 85 Molly the Cat is excited to join London United and start the process of rebuilding. Molly the Cat has grand expectations for themselves and the team with the hope of returning to the playoffs and one day winning the championship. Molly the Cat has always seen themselves as a high scoring addition to any team and has targets of 20 goals and 50 points a season. Molly the Cat hopes to one day make the VHL Hockey Hall of Fame.

It is common for players to have high expectations, but they also generally have several reservations. Molly the Cat does not want to let VHL fame change who they are but wants to ensure that they are good citizens in any city they play, using their status and fame to give back to the community. One of the things Molly the Cat is looking forward to is connecting with various charities in the London area to find something that interests them that they can support. Molly the Cat wants to make as much of an impression off the ice as they do on the ice.

Below picture was taken while Molly the Cat was practicing.  This was the first time Molly the Cat was wearing their new London United Jersey.

A note of thanks goes to Ivan Retoslav who took the picture.  Looking forward to playing with you next season.
