Girts 1,053
After winning his first championship in the VHL Girts Galvins sat down to do some reflecting on his career up to this point. Winning the championship gave him a great sense of accomplishment after all his hard work since joining the league. He's been working his butt off since day 1 and trying to help all his teams win a championship. He came close in Las Vegas as a VHLM rookie, they had a great team and made a good run, it was a great experience and he learned a lot about the league and how to be pro. Then it was off to Bratislava in the VHLE where he took his game to the next level and learned even more about what it takes to succeed in the minor pro ranks. He had some good runs in Bratislava as well but fell just short of a championship there too. He cherishes his time in both the VHLM and VHLE where he played for great GM's and had great teammates, all of which helped to to become the player he is today. Once in the VHL playing for Warsaw he had a huge wake up call as a 3rd liner and despite having a good season as a team and making the playoffs he did not have a good personal season and the team didn't go deep, but this was a needed experience for Girts to reach his potential. The next season (S84) he came out like a bandit and had a huge season statistically and also helped his team to a playoff birth. He was the best player in the team's first match up, leading he entire league in scoring and then played well in the final two rounds eventually being a key reason the Predators were able to come back and beat Seattle in the Finals. All his hard work and dedication in the VHLM, VHLE and now VHL finall paid off and he couldn't be happier or more proud of his path and how things have worked out so far. dlamb 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/126437-galvins-reflects-on-championship/ Share on other sites
