Jaxx Hextall jokes about finding a way to return to the VHL

Recommended Posts

In a recent interview with former VHL player and Toronto Legion alumni Jaxx Hextall, he was asked various questions such as what keeps up his passion for playing hockey, what he plans on doing after his playing career and if he still checks in with his rivals (spoiler alert he still does). However the most interesting question he was asked was if he could return to the VHL, would he? As everyone knows there's a limit on how many seasons you can play in the VHL, currently it's nine but back when Jaxx Hextall played it was eight, and due to the situation Toronto was in back in season 70, Hexy stayed down in the VHLM for his first season. Jaxx's answer was the usual and passionate yes, he hasn't lost any love for the game and even now approaching his mid 30's he's still like a kid with how much he enjoys playing hockey. The more interesting bit though was him joking that he had a lawyer looking for loopholes to get him back in the VHL at some point. Of course we aren't experts on the rules of the VHL for a player trying to return, most play seven or eight seasons then move on to the NHL or another league that doesn't have a season limit, some retire it right away and head into play by play or something else hockey related. Hexy has been out of the league for eight years now and we'll have to wait to see what happens with his career in the NHL, he's still got five more years on his contract.
